Services

The County Clerk is a Constitutional Officer elected every four years by the voters of Door County.

The County Clerk is in charge of:

  • Elections
  • Local, state and federal issues
  • Marriage licenses
  • Keeps on file State and Assembly bills for public inspection
  • Distributes temporary vehicle licenses to the public for DOT
  • Distributes dog licenses to municipalities
  • Collects dog license fees from municipalities, keeps related records and forwards fees to the State of Wisconsin
Duties

The Clerk’s chief duty is to:

  • Act as clerk of the County Board of Supervisors recording minutes of the Board Proceedings
  • Maintain a public file of all Standing & Special Committees of the Board
  • Make entries of its Resolutions and Ordinances
    Performing all other duties prescribed by law or required by the Board in connection with its meetings and transactions
  • Annually publishes the Proceedings of County Board
  • Annually publishes a Directory of elected officials & duties
  • Takes minutes for County Board and Property Committee and other committees as designated
