Purpose/Function: Manage and coordinate Door County’s Geographic Information System (GIS) and administer the County’s Land Information Office with the State of Wisconsin. Interact with various County Departments, public officials and general taxpayers to promote efficient, comprehensive record keeping for supporting timely, informed decision-making regarding geographic and/or land resource issues. Secure funds through Wisconsin Land Information Program (WLIP) state grants, County budgeting process, or other avenues to advance GIS and improve accessibility to information.


The GIS at Door County allows individual county departments and the public to integrate spatial information (i.e. maps) with data from existing county systems. Some of the County data sets include:

  •  Soils mapping for the entire county that are used in the Soil and Water Conservation Department;
  • Road mapping for computer aided dispatch in the Emergency Services 911 call center;
  • Parcel mapping of the entire county that is maintained by the Real Property Listing Office.
