US Census 2020

The 2020 Census can help shape the future of your community.

The 2020 Census is a once-a-decade population count of everyone who lives in the United States on April 1. Responses from the census help determine how hundreds of billions of dollars in federal funds are allocated for critical public services and programs in communities around the country each year for the next 10 years.

As of today 47.2% of households have responded. The Census workers are following up with households that haven't responded in Door County. There is still time to respond by phone, online or mail.

The Census has been very active in Door County by having Census workers at different partner locations to answer questions, encourage response or at times assist with self-response. These locations include area United Way drive thru food pantries, grocery stores, Door County YMCA, Lakeshore Cap Food Pantry, Belgian Delights Restaurant, Sturgeon Farmers Market, and Jacksonport Farmers Market.
